'Vettes at the Light, Ponce Inlet
05/16/09

Shannon's SS 'Vette made it to Daytona.

Two-time motel for the SCA, the Atlantic Ocean Palm Inn. Great accommodations ...

... with an incredible view!

Kristina, Gabby & Shannon are ready to get a lttle sandy!

Friday evening we witnessed 'Vettes all over Daytona Beach!

Taking time to relax and play a few games ...

... at Daytona's famous boardwalk ...

... is one way to beat the stress of normal day-to-day. But, Eli apparently had another way to beat it!

At the sight of green, this 'Vette family is ready to slam the pedal down!

Saturday's weather was beautiful, to say the least.

Kristina, Gabby and Mike are about to make ...

... a 203 step spiraling-trip to the top of the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. Florida's tallest lighthouse.

We made it! What a view to behold!

Gorgeous Corvettes everywhere you look!

Wow!

It's the Fresnel lens makes this a true beacon for ships to navigate safely.

A little history: Those stairs have been known to be treacherous.

Back down on solid ground, we now browse a those sweet rides up close and personal. Enjoy the tour!

Georgia & Roland were busy, busy, busy with Picturizit products!

They barely had time to chat for a few minutes.

Back to the show now.

Hot, hot, hot!

8 Corvettes in this club made the journey from Maryland.

Oooh! Oooh! I spy an idea for the Blue Demon!

What a super place for a Corvette show!

Shannon and the kids took refuge in the shade.

Even though there may not have been any SCA 'beauties on display, the club's colors were certainly being proudly displayed!

Our view from our must visit restaurant on Ponce Inlet, Down The Hatch!

Later in the evening, we had a rematch of Shuffleboard, from the night before.

Gabby & Eli, with locked heads and score ...

... a minus for each proved to be disastrous for one.

Sunday brought us more adventure during our visit. Daytona International Speedway is always a hit!

Mike & Gabby getting a bit silly.

I guess we were just a little early for the next race ... there wasn't a racecar to be seen or heard ...

... but look on the bright side, we had plenty of seats to choose from!

This year's Daytona 500 winner, Matt Kenseth's racecar (BOO!) is on display at Daytona USA for the entire year.

Our motto for the weekend. Say no more!

Our vacation's end was perfect timing for Mother Nature. As we were ready to head home, the rain came down in buckets. We were now exhausted and happy to be on our way back home!
