Carroll Shelby, 'Dr. Go-Fast,' Dies at 89

Carroll Shelby, the relentlessly ambitious Texan associated with American motorsports and aftermarket speed, died Thursday at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. The cause of death was not disclosed. Mr. Shelby produced the Cobra sports car in 1962, which would go on to dominate races in the United States and Europe, and become a highly sought car by collectors. More recently, Mr. Shelby's name appeared on the 2013 Shelby GT500, the most powerful production version of the Ford Mustang. Read more.
