2LT is the Most Popular 2021 Corvette Trim Level So Far

The 2021 Corvette is the second model year for the all-new mid-engine C8, debuting with just a few minor changes and updates over the initial 2020-model-year vehicle. Interestingly, the most popular 2021 Corvette trim level so far is the mid-range 2LT.

At the recent NCM Bash at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, take-rate figures for the 2021 Corvette trim levels and body styles were revealed, providing insight into what customers were buying.

As of April 1st, 59 percent of 2021 Corvettes produced were Coupe models, while 41 percent were Convertibles. Among the Coupes, 20 percent were in the 1LT trim level, 47 percent were in the 2LT trim level, and 33 percent were in the 3LT trim level.

Meanwhile, among 2021 Corvette Convertible buyers, 8 percent selected the 1LT trim level, 40 percent selected the 2LT trim level, and 52 percent selected the range-topping 3LT trim level.

With these numbers in mind, 2,920 units of the 2021 Corvette were 1LT models (8,544 Coupes, 3,175 Convertibles), 8,544 units were 2LT models (5,369 Coupes and 3,175 Convertibles), and 7,898 units were 3LT models (3,770 Coupes and 4,128 Convertibles), making the 2LT trim the most popular trim level thus far.

Add it all up, and we find a total of 19,362 units of the 2021 Corvette built as of April 1st.

For the sake of comparison, take rates for the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette include 14.5 percent for the 1LT trim level (15.9 percent for all Coupes, 7.9 percent for all Convertibles), 39.1 percent for the 2LT trim level (39.8 percent for all Coupes, 35.8 percent for all Convertibles), and 46.4 percent for the 3LT trim level (44.3 percent for all Coupes, 56.3 percent for all Convertibles). In total, Chevrolet sold 16,787 units of the 2020 Corvette Coupe and 3,581 units of the 2020 Corvette Convertible.
